A few weeks ago, a co-worker and myelf contacted some of our elected officials regarding the rising cost of gasoline. The responses we received were very “political” and not suprisingly, very lukewarm about the issue.

Some officials blamed the President, while others blamed the Democratic Party. Some even placed blame on Asia. I was most appreciative of Sen. Kohl’s response since it actually explained to me why we have been paying a Federal tax on gas for the past 76 years. Thanks, Herb.

As far as nobody being able to do anything about this issue… I understand that we have an energy crisis and an alcoholic-esque reliance on foreign oil, however, all it takes is one person to get the ball rolling. Our elected officials might as well tell me that ”It’s not my problem and there is nothing that you or I can do about it” because that is the attitude I’m getting from them. We elected you to be our voice, the voice of the people, to stand up and make a difference.

If you do not even make the slightest attempt to change things, then you have failed. You have failed yourself and the rest of us.

“CNN reports that gas stations will start showing PORN movies on pump screens so that you can see someone else getting screwed for a change.”

Seriously, what ISN’T cheaper than gas these days?

Cigarettes or Gas?

Whichever candidate returns home alive will become our next President of the United States.
